Hoth is also one of the more recognisable and well known of
the Star Wars. It was the temporary
location of the rebel headquarters (known as Echo Base) during the Galactic
Civil War until it was discovered a probe droid that was sent out by the Empire
in search of the Rebel Alliance. It was
later destroyed during the Battle of Hoth by the Blizzard Force (an elite imperial
force).
Like Tatooine it is also located in the Outer Rim Territories
and therefore is separated from the rest of the universe. It has one sun and three moons. It is the fifth planet from its sun and has
an asteroid belt. As it is the fifth
planet from its sun it if covered in ice caps and glaciers. The temperature is reasonable during but at
night the temperatures can drop to below -60 degrees Celsius. Although Hoth has a very scarce surface it is inhabited
by tauntauns (large reptilian creatures that are often ridden) and wampas (huge
aggressive creatures).
